Merino Fall Festival Schedule

Come join us September 30th, 2017 for the Merino Fall Festival!  Events start at 7:00 AM.

The theme this year is Small Town, Big Hearts.

Merino FCCLA 5K Run- 7:30 AM
Softball Tournament- 8:00 AM (Sponsored by Merino Highschool Wrestling)
Horseshoe Tournament- 9:00 AM
Silent Auction- 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Parade- 10:30 AM
Kid Events- Immediately following parade until 3:00 PM
Gentle Giants Wagon & Carriage Rides- 12:00 PM - 3:00PM
Tractor Poker Run- 1:00 PM
Chicken Poop Bingo- 1:30 PM

Water Project Update:

September 5, 2017 - 2:44pm -- webmaster
  • The Town may implement a test run for the new booster pump station during daytime hours on Friday the 18th.
  • The Town is scheduled to start up the new booster pump station on Tuesday August 22nd.  This will be when the new well pumps are installed and the new booster pump station and water tank will permanently be placed in service.

Fall Festival

9:30 AM- Bloody Mary Bar at Jambalayes
10:00 AM- Parade line up by HighSchool
10:00 AM- Silent Auction Starts for Merino Scholarships at Jambalayas
10:30 AM- Parade Starts
11:00 AM- Before Game BBQ at Jambalayas
11:30 AM- Riding Lawnmower Races/Kids Games
1:15 PM- Merino Ram Football Game
4:00 PM- Christian Rock Band at Jambalayes

Maintenance II Job Postion

The Town of Merino is seeking an individual for a Maintenace II Position.

This person is responsible for the water and wastewater systems for the town, and will be responsible for park, vehicle, and street maintenance.  This is a PART-TIME position.  Starting pay is $9/hr.

This individual must:

The following items will be accepted for recycling

  • Cardboard- break down all boxes
  • Newspaper/Magazines- tie or bag them together
  • Office paper- shredded or unshredded in a bag
  • Aluminum cans- place in bag
  • Iron/tin cans- (rinsed out), old screen doors, skillets, ect. 
  • Plastic #1 and #2- place in plastic bag

Please remove lids from milk jugs and other plastic bottles and discard them with your regular trash.
