The Town has released their lease from Buffalo School District to keep the old elementary playground equipment. The school and the town have made an agreement with GOCO to move the designated equipment to the new playground at the current elementary school. The GOCO signs were placed at the new playground as well to help meet the guidelines of the original grant. The original stipulation that the playground may be used by the public when school is not in session.
Several residents will be having a garage sale, but the Town will not be placing a town ad. If interested, please contact Lori Quint (970-522-1036) or Ken Salmon (970-520-1662) so they can get you set up with what you need.
The Town of Merino is issuing a limited flush restriction. All 3 sewer ponds are filling quickly and we need to conserve the waste. If this order is not followed, the Town will have to issue a no flush order. Also, if you have a basement please try to plug all drains to help prevent backflow.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Platte River.
